I grabbed the pictures from the Rollins camera and combined them with my own for this album... we had a really great trip and got to spend a lot of quality time with the people we love in Nebraska.

A little house cleaning before the holiday..

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.. I may not be around the computer the next couple of days so I wanted to get that out of the way first.

Put some random pictures together to get some clean camera memory before we head to Nebraska for Thanksgiving, so here's a hodge podge album:

Hopefully I can get back to some more regular blog posts soon... have a good one everybody!

Couple of photo albums...

I have a few albums to catch everyone up on so here they are...

Carson and I made a fort out of the dining room table chairs and a couple of bed sheets and blankets.

Carson daycare class had their annual photos done, they look really great.

Sam turned one month last week and the boys had some fun playing with Elmo...

Fun packed weekend

We took Carson to the Children's Museum to see the Haunted House and visit the new robots exhibit... we had a great time.

Football updates:
Nebraska... *deep heavy sigh* They had the game in their hands and they let it slip away.
The Indy Colts did pretty much the opposite, they were locked down in the 1rst quarter but came back strong to defeat Carolina.

From the desk of Dilbert...

This was a hilarious Dilbert strip from last week that I wanted to put up for Friday Funnies, but I just didn't get the chance too... so here it is today instead. Please click the image to take you to the Dilbert site so that Scott Adams gets the web traffic he so richly deserves for being the creator of one of the greatest comic strips ever.

From the Haffey's Links department:
We'll close with an awesome Will It Blend? episode.. featuring the one and only Chuck Norris.

Family in town...

Grandpa Rich and Uncle James were in town last week to welcome Sam to the family and spend some quality time with Carson. I snapped a few photos:

Grandma Shirl is in town this week and I copied off the pictures from their camera from last week's visit... if she takes some more pictures while she's here I'll put them in this same album.

Carson on TV...

We always watch morning news while getting ready for work; the other morning we noticed a commercial for Jenni's work. It had a bunch of photos from the renaming ceremony that Carson was at... that's when we saw the pictures of Carson. He's in the commercial three times (twice facing the camera, once is the back of his head)... I emailed the nice people at St. Vincent's and they sent me the commercial so I could share it with family and friends that don't get the local commercials.

Number one hundred forty...

Greetings... with training last week and the arrival of our baby quickly approaching I haven't had a ton of blog time. So let me take advantage of this five minute lull to dump some stuff out here.

LIFE CHANGING TIPS AND TRICKS!!!!
Hey, I know it's been awhile but never fear I have a good one today... especially for you home owners out there. How to burglarproof your doors. I know I am going to be doing a couple of the suggested things in there, I had been thinking of a moat and drawbridge but maybe just some improvements to the doors would be a cheaper route.

Finally we close with a story about health... Eye doctors warn that prolonged computer use can have ill effects, SO STOP READING THIS BEFORE YOU GO BLIND!

Saturday fun

Saturday we decided to take a little trip to the zoo, given how nice a day it was... plus Carson wanted to show us the shark petting tank.

Peyton Manning Children's Hospital

There was a press release today from Jenni's work... Carson and I were invited to come and help out. Carson got to stand at the head of the line (with his back to the TV cameras) and give Peyton (and the other big wigs) high fives on their way to the stage and then got front row seats to the news release. I took some pictures, I'm hoping Dr. Ronda and her husband Bruce got some good ones that I can put in my album as well.

And since I've already been asked, I figure I better note it here before more people wonder... Nothing is wrong with Carson, he's perfectly healthy. They had kids in the hospital and kids of employees there to greet Peyton.

Labor Day Vist to Negley

We packed up the van with our little family and grabbed my mom as well to travel out to visit Jenni's relatives in Negley, OH. We had a very relaxing weekend, we couldn't even get cellular signals, let alone internet. I didn't even take that many photos, all on the last day... here they are anyway. :)

A total eclipse...

of the Moon.

We had a pretty good view of the Lunar Eclipse this morning... I wish I had been awake enough to better use my camera's settings, but by the time I figured it out the moon was gone. Oh well, I did get at least something captured.

It fell behind the trees as the total eclipse happened... then the sun came up and I had to head to work so I didn't get to see it reemerge. Here's a couple of star photos I took between moon shots.

Weekend updates

Saturday we went to Carson's preschool teacher's house for a picnic... Thursday was his last day of preschool, Monday he starts in prekindergarten. So this was a graduation party of sorts. It was a perfect day for hanging around outside, very mild with a nice breeze. Sunday I mowed, cleaned out under Carson's playset and laid in some recycled tire mulch... it looks pretty good. Some day we might put it under the swings and stuff too, it's pretty soft to land on. Finally in the evening I put up the last shelf I had on hand in the garage. So I have done the lights in there, made space on the walls to hang stuff, and now I'm utilizing overhead space as well. Here's a couple pictures going along with the above stories.

Branson photos, day 7 & 8

Last two days in Branson! We went to the Titanic Museum, which was awesome... they don't allow photography inside but I snapped a couple outside that are pretty good. Later that day we went back to Celebration City and rode some more rides. I took two pics of the welcome center for the resort as well so that I could remember what it was called.

I guess I'll have to start doing real blog posts again... heh.

Branson photos, day 6

On our 6th day in Branson we took a Scenic Train Ride... it was a two hour trip complete with snack/drink service. The kids had a great time and the dome cars were really cool to ride in. That night we went to Celebration City... Carson got to ride a whole lot more rides than our last trip to an amusement park. He's now right at 42 inches tall. On with the show...

Last set of photos to be uploaded and showcased tomorrow!

Branson photos, day 5

So day 5 rolls around... we took it easy in the morning, the boys wanted to play on the park near our condo but that didn't last long given the crazy heat. In the afternoon we went to a Broadway tribute show they did a ton of show tunes with matching sets, it was pretty good. On our way to dinner at Dick Clark's 57 Heaven Diner we stopped at the Stone Hill Winery for a tour, some samples, and a few supplies.

Stay tuned for Day 6.

Monday, August 13, 2007

Branson photos, day 4

On our fourth day in Branson we went to Silver Dollar City... Carson got to ride his first roller coaster and lots of other fun rides.

Day 5 tomorrow!

Sunday, August 12, 2007

Branson photos, day 3

On third day at Branson we went on a tour in a Duck... it's an amphibious open aired bus. Carson even got to drive when we hit the water. After a hot day out on the town, we relaxed by the pool to end the day.

Stay tuned for Day 4...

Saturday fun

We started the day with Carson in his sibling class at the hospital. He learned a lot about how to be a big brother and he got to visit the nursery to see a lot of babies too. They finished up with helping change their "baby's" diaper and helped them play with toys.

Next up was our friend Keira's birthday party... always a good time to hang out with such good friends.

Quick hello to family

My cousin, Tammy, and her family came up from Florida to visit... we got to spend a little time with them at Mom's house.

How did the "Keep Off the Grass" sign get there in the first place?

Friday Funnies
They're not gone, there just hasn't been a lot of me posting on Fridays. I'm going to dip back into the Penny Arcade well though (as I probably will a lot) and give you: A Kris Kross reference How can you go wrong with that?

We're going to hang out at the Randolph's cabin property tonight in western Indiana, should be fun. I'll try to take some photos.

News of the "SAY WHAT?"

I read a review of a website that helps people move, called MoveMe. It looks to have lots of cool features to make moving less painful.

How about some free tickets to an Indianapolis Colts game? Feel free to sign up, win, and give them to me. I've signed up and my username is airthom.

Sports Illustrated has a "Top 10 College Sports Venues" story up... Memorial Stadium didn't make it (I'm surprised), but Rosenblatt Stadium did make it. I've been to Rosenblatt (a lot) and to the Rose Bowl one time, both are amazing places.

Have a good weekend, see you on the other side.

Jujuby.com going away

Monday, July 9th, is the last day JuJuBy.com will be online... I hope that you've read the previous blog post about the domain name change and you have updated your links.

Going to be a weekend of taking it easy and maybe get a couple home projects done. I hope your weekend is productive as well.

Fourth of July

This is going to be an action packed blog entry... buckle your seat belts.

First and foremost, sixteen posts ago I passed the 100 mark for blog entries. Yay!

Second, yesterday was the Fourth of July... we invited some people over to my parent's place for some swimming, cooking out, and a little fireworks fun. I captured some of the excitement with my camera. All the fireworks shots were from our neighbor's later that night.

Alright, how about we drop some Techie news and a little "Haffey's links" now...

When French people swear, do they say, "Pardon my English"?

This day in history

1889: Flag Day in the US

In the United States, Flag Day (more formally, National Flag Day) is celebrated on June 14. It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened that day by resolution of the Second Continental Congress in 1777.

In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that officially established June 14 as Flag Day; in August 1949, National Flag Day was established by an Act of Congress.

Flag Day is not an official federal holiday, though on June 14, 1937 Pennsylvania became the first (and only) U.S. state to celebrate Flag Day as a state holiday.

Funny and Scary:

Haffey came up big this past week with an OUTSTANDING link to a couple very useful sites:
  • Windows XP Post SP2 Update Pack, which let's you update your media with the latest updates to save time after building machine by not having to patch them. It also has some other add-on tools that are pretty cool.
  • The other site is tlbox, which is a great repository of various tools (in our link we have focused on System Admins, but there are others to choose from) that you can integrate into Firefox. Kudos to you, sir, for the awesome links.

I have some friends that are really into Guitar Hero, so the next two links are all about them. If you are into GH, you are welcome to enjoy them as well.

Apple iPhone... June 29th... 6pm... local time.

The Colts received their SuperBowl Champion rings last night.

Blast from the past:

I really wanna go see if there are some episodes of this I can get, I used to watch it all the time. heh

What disease did cured ham have?

What American accent do you have? (Best version so far)

Midland

("Midland" is not necessarily the same thing as "Midwest") The default, lowest-common-denominator American accent that newscasters try to imitate. Since it's a neutral accent, just because you have a Midland accent doesn't mean you're from the Midland.

We're having a BOY!

Had the ultrasound today

and he showed his gender to the ultrasound tech

This one seemed just as uncooperative as Carson was during his ultrasound, but less dedicated to blocking the tech from telling if he was a girl or a boy. Now to start the name debate... heh.

Picnic @ Eagle Creek

Carson's daycare held a picnic for those families that may want to go... we had a really good time and Carson enjoyed playing with classmates on the weekend.

Nick turns SIX!!!

We got to go to Nick's 6th birthday party, it was a Harry Potter party...
Here's the album:
Nick's Birthday Party

In the interest of not having a hundred photo's link from here use the album to check out all the action, I am going to directly link my favorite part; potion creation.

And then close with my favorite photo:

Thanks for having us over to your house Nick, we're looking forward to a really fun summer.
