Best birthday I haven't had yet

Jenni got me a Nikon D60 camera for my Christmas/Birthday/next Birthday present... and already it's the best birthday that hasn't come yet. Yay for me!

Holiday Fun

The boys got to go see Santa...

Grandma and Papa went with us so I grabbed a picture of them all together too...


After getting these pictures done we pondered some portraits, only to find every portrait place in town was packed to the rafters. I called my friend Roger to see if I could borrow his super nice camera and just do some on my own. To see the full photo shoot check out THIS GALLERY. Katie and Maddie Birthday

Katie and Maddie held their birthday party at Splash Island in Plainfield this year... it was a very cool place and all of the kids had an awesome time.

I've added a twitter feed to my site on the right column there... and hopefully my flash status thing at the top of the page will start working again.

COLTS WIN!! Comfortably to boot, it was a double blessing. I'm thinking of inviting people over for next weeks game against the Lions, hit me up if you have interest.

I'm in the process of deciding whether to move to SmugMug from PicasaWeb. PicasaWeb has been great and no matter what I'll continue using Picasa on my computer and most likely continue with their free storage but for the money I spend I want more. I have 25+gb of photos/videos, it's about 20,000 files in 500ish folders. The flat structure of PicasaWeb does not handle it well (and I could only house about 50-60% of my items there). I started using SmugMug a few days ago to just check it out, I kind of got into it and was doing a lot of customizations as well as uploading a bunch of photos. That's when I found that I was missing some original photos I had taken and/or scanned over the years. This is exactly the kind of problem only being able to house a portion of your pictures online can cause, luckily some of the pictures I had online but they were reduced quality because of space limitations. SmugMug has no space limitation, so another point for them there. I'll be making the final decision sometime this week, but if you've read this far you have probably picked up my inclination so far. My PicasaWeb link is on the right (I've stripped it down to be under the 1gb free limit) and contact me if you want my SmugMug link... in case you want to give input, which I welcome.

Sam's First Year Video

I try to make a video for each kid on/around their birthday to show the last year in pictures and video. I try to set it to either some music they like or something matching the pictures. Sam's first almost got by me without a video.. but I got it done before the birthday party. I put it on DVD and ripped it back to Google Video for everyone to get to see it.

Sam turned ONE today... I took off work to spend the day with him. We went to a few indoor parks and strolled around the mall (Sam loves people watching). After a really good nap we got some portraits done to surprise Jenni.











We had my parents and sister over (with the boys) and our neighbor's even stopped by for some presents and cupcakes!

Popsicles and the beach..

Sam tried a popsicle for the first time and then later I took some photos of the boys on "the beach" in their summer outfits. Koala's and Wrapping Paper

Carson found the joy of cardboard paper tubes and took it upon himself to free up a couple extra for himself... we let Sam play in the mass of wasted wrapping paper, he liked it a lot.

Also, this past weekend we decided to hit the zoo to check out the visiting Koala's before they left... it was a beautiful day and we had a great time.

Children's Museum

On an especially hot Sunday this past week, we went to the Children's Museum. This would be Sam's first time where he was big enough to play in the different areas. He really had a great time at the Playscape area. Weekend project

Finished up a little project in the patio room this weekend...





More and more kids "using" the screen doors in the patio room... with the previous handle being so small, it was hard for them not to push the screen through. Hopefully these new, BIG, colorful handles will be well used.

Back from Florida

It was a great time... we got to see a lot of family. The boy's got to be in the ocean (ok, the Gulf of Mexico) for the first time... Sam got in a pool for the first time. Carson met Carson (Great Grampa) and Carson (Cousin). I have a ton of photos (200+) and another video to add to the swimming videos in the previous blog post.

Travel Day

Well, we got off from Indy fine and got to Tampa about 10 minutes early (that was for the Steward that said we needed to tell everyone about our early arrival)... made the drive to New Port Richey and got checked into the hotel. Jenni took the boys to the pool, which was Sam's first time. Carson being the old pro hopped right in and was swimming all over, Sam took to the water much like his brother did when he was young.

I snapped some photos and a couple videos... here's two of the pics, will hopefully get the vids up tomorrow.
