Vista launches, Woot-Off in progress

Microsoft's commercial launch of Windows Vista is today... Win yourself a copy of the Ultimate edition here. I've been using the Enterprise version for a few months and it's pretty nice if you have the hardware to take advantage of you. Looks like Yahoo's widgets will play nice as well.

In case I haven't mentioned it, I am in the Alpha of Trillian Astra. I joined in at build 26 and we are now at build 28. I'm really liking the direction they are going and the second build is a lot more stable and had new features added. I have been dabbling in beta testing a lot lately and it's been really fun. Here's a shot of my desktop with Trillian running and 4 chat containers with 9 chat buddies in them.

Orange you glad I finally made a new post?

That's right folks, I'm back... been swamped lately so there hasn't been much time for posting. Here's something we were doing:

Now you get the title, hah. It still needs some accessories for the walls but I think it is a really neat color and we had a lot of fun putting it up. I wish I had a more wide-angle lens on my camera because depending on the angle it looks brighter/darker in the photos. The actual color is somewhere in between. heh

COLTS WIN!!!!!

Wow.. what a game. I was on the edge of my seat the whole game. Defense stepped up AGAIN!!! And number 4 was an awesome off-season pickup.

Saints just won too, cool feel good story with those guys.

Want to go to the Superbowl? Colts are giving away tickets. Also I added a Colts flash thing at the bottom of my blog, check it out it's pretty cool.

Carson loved his first swim lesson. It's just him in the pool with a teacher (who is watching up to three other kids) so he's learning that listening is important. Today was pretty much just a skill check to see what each kid can do but Carson still loved it. I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Here comes the weekend

Man, it feels like this has been the longest week all year... oh, wait. :) Carson starts his swimming class tomorrow and he is really excited. Mom made some chocolate cake and brought it over last night, was delicious.

Big Ten embarassment

Wow, just wow.... Kudos to Florida for playing a flawless game though.

Patch Tuesday has landed, so the rest of this will be brief BUT there are a few things to note that are awesometacular (yes, I just made up that word).

AppleTV - for $299 you get a crapload of AWESOME features that brings the content from your computer over to your TV. I'm really pondering getting one of these.

iPhone lives - it's real, it's spectacular, I want one VERY BADLY, and it will break the bank ($599)... but in their defense, there is NOTHING on the market that even comes close to touching this thing.

Ok, so back to patching and stuff.

It's rough having a short weekend after having a nice long one... I might have to start a campaign at some point to get my 4 day work week idea off the ground. heh

COLTS WIN! It was an amazing effort by the defense to hold Larry Johnson to less than 40 yards.
Cowboys lose due to butter fingers, Patriots stun Jets, and the Eagles kick a last minute field goal to win their game. Good start the playoffs.

Had some catching up to do with the house and work... so now that I'm pretty close to being caught up I figured I better put an update here.

While in Nebraska we went to Heather's 30th birthday party, it was really fun seeing our friends and hanging out again!

New Year's Eve was quiet for us, as more than half of the house was some kind of sick. We just stayed in and watched movies (and football). Which turned out ok given the 4+ inches of snow that got dumped, making going out less appealing anyway. Carson and I made time for a snow fight (since we haven't really had any accumulated snowfall in Indiana).
